Spring Conference in LubbockThe District 44 Spring Conference will be in Lubbock on May 3, 2008. More details will be available soon on the District 44 website (http://www.District-44.org). Here is a teaser video for the conference. The video was created by Kyle W. of the Toasters club.
Tracy Wins District!
TIM WINS DISTRICT! AGAIN!!Updated on 5/3/07: New photo added
At his current pace, Tim may be looking for volunteers to help him build a new trophy case to house all his Toastmasters trophies.
After winning the District 44 Evaluation contest in the fall, Tim won the District 44 Tall Tales contest on Saturday in Abilene with his speech, "The Tail is the Tale". Congratulations Tim!!  Tracy, Gayle and Tim at the District 44 Spring Conference in Abilene on April 28, 2007.  Tim delivers "The Tail is the Tale" at the 2007 Spring Conference.

Tim won 2nd place at the North Division Tall Tales contest in Amarillo on April 14th. He moves on to the district contest on April 28th. The top 2 places from each division compete at the district level. (Click on the images for full size photos)  
Congratulations Tim & Joe!
At the Area 6 contest on Saturday, March 24th, Tim and Joe won the area contests for Tall Tales and International Speech, respectively. They now move on to the Division contest in Amarillo on April 14th. The Division N contest will be at 2pm in the Amarillo Library SW Branch at 6801 W. 45th (map below). Contestants should show up 30 minutes early ... that's you Tim & Joe! If you get a chance, please run up to Amarillo for the day and see them compete. Tracy 
Area 5 & 6 Speech Contests
The International Speech and Tall Tales contests for Areas 5 and 6 will
take place on Saturday, March 24th at the Lubbock Power & Light
Operations Center at 404 Municipal Drive (see map below & photo of
the building). The contest will begin at 1pm. Contestants and judges should arrive at 12:30pm for the briefing by the Chief Judge. Come out and see the Downtown club's winners face off against the winners from the other Area 6 clubs. And get a preview of the Division N contest by watching the Area 5 contestants compete. Club Speech Contest Winners
Congratulations to Tim and Joe, our club speech contest winners. Tim won the Tall Tales contest for the Downtown club while Joe won the International Speech competition. Please come out to the Area 6 contest to cheer them on!

and area contests. His
second place finish sends him to Amarillo on the 21st to compete in the

Division Contest
Our own Tim Evans won the Area 6 Evaluation contest on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Godeke Library. Congratulations Tim! Next up for Tim is the Division contest in Canyon, TX at the West Texas A&M Dining Hall. This takes place on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 11am. The doors open at 10:30am and contestants are asked to arrive between 10:30 and 10:45. If you want to eat after the contest, the WTA&M Dining Hall will be serving a brunch for $5.40 per person. Members on the Move

Distinguished Club Program
So far we have achieved 10 of the 10 goals and qualified for President's Distinguished Club!
5 Goals are required to achieve Distinguished Club status. 7 are required for Select Distinguished Club status. 9 are required for President's Distinguished Club status.

North Division contest on Saturday April 8th at 10:30am at Godeke
Library. Doug will be competing in the International Speech contest and Tracy will compete in the Tall Tales contest. Doug tells about baseball's saddest day.  Tracy tells about when Lubbock was wet.
