The Evaluation and Tall Tales contests for Areas 61 and 62 will take place on Saturday, October 4th at the Lubbock Power & Light Operations Center at 404 Municipal Drive (see map below & photo of the building).  The contest will begin at 9:30am.

Contestants and judges should arrive at 9:00am for the briefing by the Chief Judge.

Come out and see the Downtown club's winners face off against the winners from the other Area 62 clubs.  The first place winners in each contest and for each area will move on to the Division F contest on October 18th.  It will be at the same location (LP&L Op Center) but at 1:30pm.

PARKING INFORMATION: Please do not park in the spaces facing the building.  These are reserved for LP&L employees.  Please park facing the street unless using the handicap parking spaces.

Club members faced off this week during Downtown's Fall Contests.  Douglas Sanford took first place in the Evaluation contest with Darrell Bateman taking second.   First place in the Tall Tales contest went to Renee Witherspoon and Sammy Odom placed second.

Several local Toastmasters volunteered at KTXT-TV (channel 5) last night during the PBS station's semi-annual pledge drive.  Over the course of four hours they took pledges and answered viewer questions. 

Gayle Jordan (of Articulates), Michael Oden (of Downtown) and Cathy Flory (also of Downtown) man the phones during KTXT-TV's semi-annual pledge drive.  Not pictured, but also participating in the pledge drive were Jan d'Orsay (Toasters), Keith Waters (Toasters), Angelia Heare (Articulates and Lubbock Pro) and Tracy Thomason (Downtown and Toasters).

For his leadership, motivation and long hours of dedicated work, Immediate Past President Tim Evans received the Club President Award today during the Downtown Toastmasters meeting.
